Responsibilities

Manage a diverse portfolio of contract surety accounts
Analyse and secure underwriting data, perform financial analysis and apply critical thinking on underwriting decisions and client relationship issues
Build partnerships with brokers and clients, delivering surety solutions at the account level in a professional and responsive manner
Develop broker relationships and marketing strategies to further new business development opportunities
Maintain quality control and profitable growth
Maintain a strong knowledge of construction industry trends, market conditions, and current challenges and opportunities
The successful candidate will demonstrate financial acumen and excellent rapport building skills by building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and insurance brokers.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with co-workers in a team setting

Requirements

minimum 1 year of related business experience,
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance
Experience requirements - Underwriter I: minimum 1 year of related business experience, Underwriter II: minimum 2 years of contract surety experience
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products

Compensation

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc.
The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles.
