Responsibilities

  • As an Engineering Manager, Product at Hiive, you will directly manage two product engineering teams - including the Engineering Leads and IC engineers on each.
  • Each team runs as a triad of a PM, a Designer, and an Engineering Lead; you won't replace that structure, but you'll own the people leadership, delivery oversight, and prioritization support that today sits with the Director.
  • These tools are designed to support and inform human decision-making and are not used as the sole basis for any employment decision.
  • Managing both Engineering Leads and IC engineers, including 1:1s, performance reviews, and helping each person take on more scope and grow their career.

Requirements

  • A proven track record managing engineers of different levels (including Staff) and different working styles. (This typically looks like 3+ years in a formal management role.)
  • Strong track record as an engineer or manager during a period of rapid growth.

Skills

  • Effective communication across both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Genuinely proficient with AI-assisted coding tools, with recent hands-on experience.
  • Experience in fintech, marketplace platforms, or other regulated software environments.
  • Experience driving AI adoption as a team-wide process change, not just personal tool use
