About the role

  • Help shape the platform's evolution toward AI-augmented authoring and a more unified developer experience, balancing near-term customer value against the longer-term platform direction
  • Contribute to sales enablement material and train go-to-market teams (Account Executives, Application Engineers, Customer Success, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with operators, controls engineers, integrators, and Vention's own commissioning team to understand application requirements, feature gaps, and real-world manufacturing constraints
  • Conduct analysis to inform new product specifications and evaluate the performance of existing capabilities (visual sequencing, code authoring, HMI building, robot programming, deployment, and debugging)
  • Scope and maintain a unified product roadmap spanning all authoring surfaces, the operator interface layer, and supporting tooling
  • Lead preparation for Quarterly Product Reviews
  • Track and communicate key product metrics including feature adoption, time-to-deploy an application, program reliability, support ticket volume, and user satisfaction across personas
  • Quarterly management training on topics ranging from "Giving & Receiving Feedback, to Building high-performing teams, to "Developing your own Leadership model"
  • Quarterly World-Class Speaker Series featuring industry leaders sharing their perspective and lessons learned as they build their function and business

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in product management in the context of developer tools, software platforms, robotics, industrial technologies, or another highly technical domain
  • Ability to bridge technical software teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear product requirements
  • Strong analytical tool kit with the ability to analyze datasets and product usage data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds and good time managements

Nice to have

  • Experience with developer tools, IDEs, low-code/no-code platforms, or AI-assisted authoring products
  • Familiarity with industrial automation applications (e.g., machine tending, palletizing, assembly, kitting)
  • Hands-on experience with robot arm programming, motion planning, PLC/controls, or HMI design
  • Knowledge of Python programming
  • Experience bringing software products from concept to production at scale
  • Exposure to AI/agentic product experiences and an interest in where they intersect with industrial automation

Skills

  • Conduct benchmarking of competing automation programming environments, low-code/visual tools, and AI-assisted development experiences
  • Excellent internal/external stakeholder management skills
