About the role
- Monitors and supervises children to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Communicates effectively with parents regarding children's progress and behavior.
- Observes and assesses children's development and growth.
Requirements
- Ability to sit (on floor) in close proximity to children during play and activity periods.
- Ability to lift a child into a crib and place them in it safely.
- Ability to actively supervise children during gross motor play.
- Ability to move rapidly in potentially unsafe physical situations: example: a child falling off the climber.
- Ability to bend over quickly to pick up children by their torso, not by their arms.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Active Child Development Associate (CDA) certification within one year of hire, preferred.
Skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with children, families, and other professionals.
- Ability to supervise and direct Assistant Teachers and students.
- Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks and change priorities.
- Experience in an early childhood education program, preferred.

Compensation
- 24 annual hours of Ohio-Approved Professional Development tracked by department, unless Associate's Degree or CDA certification is maintained, required.
