About the role

  • NWACC offers a full range of associate degrees, certificates and workforce training programs that prepare students for rewarding futures and careers.
  • The Full-Time Faculty member in Psychology teaches courses such as General Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and others as needed in traditional, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Start date is anticipated for August 3; a January 4th start may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records in compliance with FERPA
  • Hold 10 on-campus office hours per week and maintain regular communication with students
  • Maintain an on-campus presence averaging 32 hours per week

Requirements

  • Attend required meetings, ceremonies, and professional events
  • Master's degree in Psychology or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours of coursework related to the teaching discipline.
  • The following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Nice to have

  • PhD in psychology or a related field
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and/or the community college

Skills

  • Strong commitment to student success and quality teaching
  • Effective communication of psychological concepts
  • Proficiency with instructional technology, including Canvas LMS (or willingness to learn)

Compensation

  • Rate of pay: determined by faculty scale placement (education and years of experience) *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position
