Responsibilities
- The Consultant, Business Analytics provides insights that inform decisions influencing department strategy, performs in-depth analysis of research information to identify opportunities, develops proposals and makes recommendations for management's use.
- The role works autonomously on day-to-day work, researching industry best practices, tools, and systems for reporting and data analysis, identifying and recommending enhancements to automated systems used to create a standardized reporting system.
- Strategic thinking approach - Drive, manage and execute data and reporting projects and initiatives in alignment with CIBC Strategy while supporting the business goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
- Ability to think strategically about how to mobilize and engage teams across the enterprise to deliver strategic change.
- Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
- Reporting - Track progress and conduct analysis of data and reports. Support in the tracking and communication of performance metrics.
Requirements
- You can demonstrate experience with programming languages and have experience using modern big data, analytical and dashboard tools (i.e. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, Alteryx, Tableau, Cognos).
- You have a degree in a quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, physics, business) or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree is an asset (i.e. MMA, MBAN, MSc, MA, MBA).
- You are a problem solver.
- You have exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend solutions.
- You have stellar communication skills.
- You also have the ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally
- You are motivated by accomplishing your goals and delivering your best to make an impact.
- We may ask you to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills test (such as simulation, coding, French proficiency).
