About the role
- Influences professional role competence and professional growth of team members in a variety of settings.
- Coordinates initial training for orientation, ongoing certification, and competency training and evaluation for team members.
- Facilitates practice transitions for new graduate nurses.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with interprofessional teams, leaders, stakeholders, and others to facilitate nursing practices and positive outcomes for consumers.
- Maintains depth and breadth of clinical knowledge in area of practice. Evaluates his/her own knowledge in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Assists in the preparation for review by regulatory agencies. Educates and assists department leaders to maintain appropriate policies and procedures to fulfill requirements and regulations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire
- Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required upon hire AND
- PALS instructor - Certified as a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor required within 180 days of employment in this position

Compensation
- Develops and administers an annual learning needs assessment. Employs a formalized process to develop data collection and analysis methods to determine the educational needs of individuals/groups.
