About the role

SLCS is currently seeking a Full-Time Case Worker for the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Program.
The hours of the program run between 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week.
The rotation includes a 3 day weekend every other weekend.

Case workers may support people who have the potential to become verbally or physically aggressive in a one to one setting.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with community organizations and other agencies

1-3 years' work experience dealing with people with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, addictions services, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum
1-3 years' experience working with people who have the potential to become verbally or physically aggressive, using de-escalation strategies to mitigate risk.
This position requires a clear Police Check with vulnerable sector screening as a required condition of employment, as per SLCS policy.

As a member of this interdisciplinary team, you will provide support services and crisis intervention to adults with disabilities, mental health needs and/or addictions.
Provide education, support, and supervision to other staff or students as applicable
Connect with client's family and supports to remain engaged and assist as a resource for wellbeing of client
