About the role

  • SLCS is currently seeking a Full-Time Case Worker for the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Program.
  • The hours of the program run between 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week.
  • The rotation includes a 3 day weekend every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Case workers may support people who have the potential to become verbally or physically aggressive in a one to one setting.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with community organizations and other agencies

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' work experience dealing with people with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, addictions services, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum
  • 1-3 years' experience working with people who have the potential to become verbally or physically aggressive, using de-escalation strategies to mitigate risk.
  • This position requires a clear Police Check with vulnerable sector screening as a required condition of employment, as per SLCS policy.

Compensation
