About the role

- The individual will work closely with faculty and staff in the arts, the AU Museum, as well as individuals throughout the College and the University.
- This position reports directly to the College Assistant Dean for Communications & Outreach.
Responsibilities
- Promotional efforts include social media content creation, writing online news stories, email marketing, and outreach to campus and community partners.
- The individual also manages the production and distribution of marketing materials related to arts events, including performance programs and posters.
- They will manage student workers who assist with photography and videography.
- Project manages graphic designers and serves as a liaison between the designers and the faculty on the creation of promotional materials.
- Liaise with printers to manage and oversee the distribution of printed materials.
- Provide with writing, editing, and designing supports as needed.
- Manage student photographers and work with directors and assistants on photo/video shoots.
- Work with the AU Arts ticketing office to manage the ticketing platform. Direct the AU Arts social media presence. Assist social media assistants/student workers and faculty within the AU Arts programs to help them maintain engaging social media accounts.
- Maintain mailing lists for AU Arts and coordinate targeted e-mails and newsletters for upcoming events and AU Arts announcements.
- Manage internal library of photo assets.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 4 years of relevant experience in communications or marketing field required with an interest or experience in the arts.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work on multiple tasks, and a collaborative work style.
- Technical experience using content management systems, social media and email marketing software, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office is required.
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in communications or marketing field required with an interest or experience in the arts.
- This position will perform a wide variety of complex promotional tasks. This position will have ongoing involvement with multiple academic departments within the College, other offices at the University, and with organizations outside the university with the goal of increasing AU's recognition as a leader in the arts. The incumbent will work collaboratively and will need to establish strong positive working relationships to accomplish promotional activities on a strict schedule and under the constraints of the budget. The arts calendar each year includes approximately 35 concerts and theatre productions, 20 exhibits, and numerous associated lectures, receptions, and events. The position regularly exercises independent judgment or initiative. The incumbent generally plans and schedules their own work within the time frames and production schedules set during the development of the annual promotional plan.

Compensation
- $30.00 - $33.00 per hour.
- Prepare annual AU Arts promotional budget with the College Assistant Dean of Communications and Outreach.
