About the role
- This position may supervise or oversee the work of administrative and/or accounting staff.
- The MCSO Finance Division recognizes the importance of an effective work/life balance in order to achieve optimal results and retain high-performing employees.
- Therefore, after successful completion of onboarding and training, the incumbent in this position will be provided with the opportunity to work an alternative schedule and/or telecommute.
Responsibilities
- Maintains ledgers, registers, records of initial entry, and control accounts.
- Supports the daily activities of the department, including various aspects of internal and external reporting as well as general accounting functions.
- Audits financial records, contracts, documents, and business processes.
- Responds to requests for information; reviews, investigates, and corrects errors in documents and reports; provides technical information to staff as authorized.
- Participates in financial audits and compliance reviews; assist with document compilation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
Nice to have
- Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.
- Experience with governmental and/or fund accounting concepts and government budgeting.
- Experience working in a high-volume general ledger environment.

Compensation
- $65,000.00 - $84,375.00 - $103,750.00
