About the role
- Manager of Health Safety and Environmental SUPERVISES: Safety Officers, Fire Watch contractors assigned to San Diego Office.
- DIRECTION EXERCISED: Full discretionary authority to assign work at a local level.

Responsibilities
- Oversees at a local level development, recommend and implement general accident preventive programs to include specific protective procedures and devices.
- Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.
- Developing, providing, and documenting compliance training, as applicable.
- Ability to lead and direct teams, workgroups or subordinates
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older at time of application
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to be placed on company vehicle insurance.
- Must have the ability, bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
- Ability to turn head from side to side and about the vertical axis.
- Ability to turn body at the waist from side to side and about the vertical axis.
- Must have the ability to climb in an unrestrained safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and ramps).
- Ability to work at heights above 12' while working from ladders, scaffolding and/or man lifts.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline paired with a minimum of 10 years of professional safety experience.
- Equivalency will be considered for candidates demonstrating 12 or more years of directly related safety management experience in the Shipyard environment.
- Must be able to work with other safety personnel and management staff and to take direction accordingly.
Nice to have
- OSHA Outreach training as it relates to Shipyard Industry - Considered a Plus but not necessary to apply for job.

Compensation
- Salary range depends on relevant experience: $108,880.67 - $160,916.57

- Must be familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), must be competent in filing reports, answering complaints and responding to citation notices issued by these organizations: NAVSEA & OSHA.
