- Could you be our next Staff Tax Accountant?
- Globe Life is looking for a Staff Tax Accountant to join the team!
- This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, Texas (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Lead research and analysis of complex federal and state tax issues, evaluating diverse factors and devising solutions based on limited information and precedent.
- Develop, analyze, and document sophisticated tax planning strategies and compliance solutions, adapting existing approaches to resolve issues in creative ways.
- Manage and resolve issues raised during Internal Revenue Service examinations and various state examinations with wide latitude for independent judgment.
- Build and enhance. relationships with senior internal and external partners, adapting communication style to differing audiences.
- Lead special projects and initiatives requiring sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to persuade and advise senior partners on complex matters.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities and competing priorities.

Requirements
- Ability to work full time and/or part time based on the position specifications.
- What You Can Bring:
- Advanced Excel and tax software proficiency.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Tax.
- Master's degree in Accounting/Tax strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive federal and state tax compliance/consulting experience in public accounting or tax department of a publicly traded company with a Bachelor's degree
- OR Minimum 3 years of experience with Master's degree.
- CPA designation required (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Demonstrated experience working independently on complex tax matters with minimal supervision.
- Proven track record of leading tax projects and advising senior stakeholders.
- Complete knowledge and full understanding of US GAAP (ASC 740), US corporate tax compliance, and consolidated returns.
