About the role

  • We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Job Developer, Manufacturing Program on our Employment team.
  • They will act as the main point of contact for employers and work closely with Employment Specialists and program staff to coordinate participant placements, work experiences, and employment opportunities.
  • Analyse labour market data, employer workforce needs, and participant outcomes to refine job development strategies and track successful placements and hires.

Responsibilities

  • Use sales tactics to build professional relationships with prospective employers, promoting program services and participant talent.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employers, building strong partnerships and acting as the main employer contact.
  • Conduct employer outreach, recruitment activities, and hiring events to support participant employment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with employers to generate employment opportunities and support successful placements and participant retention.
  • Coordinate interviews, placement activities, onboarding processes, and follow-up support with employers and participants.
  • Develop job descriptions and specifications in collaboration with employers.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employers to support successful placements, retention, and participant success.
  • Support program staff when needed with participant job search preparation activities and employment readiness initiatives.
  • Since 1987, Reception House has helped thousands of refugees rebuild their lives in Canada through specialized programs and services designed to help them become established in their new communities.
  • The Job Developer plays a key role in building employer relationships within the manufacturing sector and negotiating placements, ensuring successful job matches and participant retention.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar or related role, such as job development, business development, B2B sales, or employment services.
  • Knowledge of Employment Ontario protocols and processes is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing sector, workforce needs, and local employment opportunities is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with technology required, specific skills in Microsoft Office and Employment Ontario databases an asset.
  • Resilience, perseverance, and an ability to overcome objections.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the local labour market, employment pathways and trends is preferred.

Compensation

  • $53,000 per year
