About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Job Developer, Manufacturing Program on our Employment team.
They will act as the main point of contact for employers and work closely with Employment Specialists and program staff to coordinate participant placements, work experiences, and employment opportunities.
Analyse labour market data, employer workforce needs, and participant outcomes to refine job development strategies and track successful placements and hires.

Use sales tactics to build professional relationships with prospective employers, promoting program services and participant talent.
Provide excellent customer service to employers, building strong partnerships and acting as the main employer contact.
Conduct employer outreach, recruitment activities, and hiring events to support participant employment outcomes.
Collaborate with employers to generate employment opportunities and support successful placements and participant retention.
Coordinate interviews, placement activities, onboarding processes, and follow-up support with employers and participants.
Develop job descriptions and specifications in collaboration with employers.
Maintain ongoing communication with employers to support successful placements, retention, and participant success.
Support program staff when needed with participant job search preparation activities and employment readiness initiatives.

The Job Developer plays a key role in building employer relationships within the manufacturing sector and negotiating placements, ensuring successful job matches and participant retention.

At least 3 years' experience in a similar or related role, such as job development, business development, B2B sales, or employment services.
Knowledge of Employment Ontario protocols and processes is an asset.
Knowledge of the manufacturing sector, workforce needs, and local employment opportunities is considered an asset.
Proficiency with technology required, specific skills in Microsoft Office and Employment Ontario databases an asset.
Resilience, perseverance, and an ability to overcome objections.

Knowledge of the local labour market, employment pathways and trends is preferred.
