About the role

  • MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES - This position will not have management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with department heads to develop and execute the day-to-day management and administration of company safety programs.
  • Develops the company's Safety Management System, promoting safe actions, being the company contact for safety related issues and serving as a company liaison with members of the FAA, NTSB, and other government regulatory agencies, as necessary.
  • Collaborates with department leaders to ensure safety programs are integrated into the day-to-day operation within their department.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all cases involving company operations and when dealing with sensitive or security issues.
  • Performs other TransMedics tasks and duties as necessary.
  • The Director of Safety & Security collaborates with the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, Chief Flight Instructor, Director of Maintenance, and Executive Vice President to develop and execute the day-to-day management and administration of company safety programs.
  • This position is responsible for developing the company's Safety Management System, promoting safe actions, being the company contact for safety related issues and serving as a company liaison with members of the FAA, NTSB, and other government regulatory agencies, as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience with Part 121 or 135 air carrier, required.
  • 3 years' relevant work experience with air carrier safety, required.
  • 2 years of prior leadership experience, required.
  • Knowledge and operational experience of 14 CFR Part 91 and Part 135 operations, required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation or related field of study, preferred
