Responsibilities
- Supports daily ROI operations by verifying authorization validity, retrieving electronic or paper records, maintaining strict confidentiality and facilitating accurate and timely responses.
Requirements
- Knowledge of all state and federal release of information regulatory requirements.
- Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of ROI related state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work alone or as a team member.
Nice to have
- One year' previous experience in release of information preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- RHIT or RHIA preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of ROI related state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Special Training: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
- Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to work in environment using multiple EMR systems.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet required turnaround times.
- Strong customer service skills, ability to work in sometimes stressful environment.
- Perform detail-oriented tasks with high level of accuracy.
- Usual Work Day: 8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees?
- Sorts and prioritizes mail.
- Logs requests for medical records into the Release of Information tracking system.
- Attach copies of request letters into the tracking system and scan requests into the ROI tab in patient charts.
- Meets or exceeds departmental accuracy and productivity standards.
