About the role
- As part of Autodesk Forma (Autodesk's construction platform), the Construction AI team is shaping how AI-powered product experiences can help make that work simpler, smarter, and more connected.
- Our work focuses on bringing AI into real customer workflows, helping teams understand project context, reducing errors, making better decisions, and moving work forward with greater clarity.
- We are looking for designers who are excited to work in a fast-evolving AI product space where capabilities, customer expectations, and experience patterns are still being defined.
Responsibilities
- Lead AI Assistant experiences across Autodesk Construction products and surfaces, including web and mobile
- Translate emerging AI capabilities, complex workflows, customer needs, product architecture, and system behaviors into clear product experience strategies and design solutions
- Lead strategic design work from early exploration through execution, including concepts, flows, prototypes, interaction models, and detailed product designs
- Define scalable interaction patterns for AI-powered experiences that can support evolving capabilities, data contexts, and customer workflows
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, AI, and broader Autodesk partner teams to align on direction, make informed tradeoffs, and move work forward in ambiguous problem spaces
- Create compelling artifacts such as journey maps, system models, prototypes, product concepts, and experience narratives to build alignment and support decision-making
- Raise the quality of design thinking and execution through collaboration, critique, strong craft, and shared ways of working
- Within Autodesk Construction, that mission comes to life through products that help construction teams coordinate complex work, connect project data, and deliver better outcomes across the building lifecycle.
- Reporting to the Director of Experience Design, you will partner closely with Design, Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and AI teams across Autodesk Construction and the broader Autodesk organization.
Requirements
- Experience designing AI-powered product experiences, including experiences that involve automation, intelligent systems, data-rich workflows, or adaptive product behavior
- Experience designing complex, multi-surface product experiences across web and mobile
- Deep experience translating complex user needs, product requirements, and system behaviors into intuitive, scalable interaction models for complex, workflow-heavy, or enterprise product experiences
- Principal Experience Designer, Construction AI
Nice to have
- Experience working with emerging AI capabilities in complex product environments where patterns, system behavior, and customer expectations are still being defined
- Experience designing conversational, Assistant, or multi-surface AI experiences
- Interest or background in AEC, construction technology, or complex project-based domains
