Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships and a sense of belonging through consistent connection and proactive support for students who are disengaged or struggling.
- Recognize when students need support beyond the program's capacity and communicate concerns to the coordinator.
- Build respectful, professional relationships with families and caregivers while maintaining confidentiality and recognizing them as key partners in student success.
- Provide homework support and skill-building activities, adapting instruction to meet students' needs.
- Design and facilitate inclusive, culturally responsive activities that support diverse backgrounds, abilities, and developmental needs through trauma-informed practices.
- Collaborate effectively with program staff, school personnel, and team members to support program goals.
- Demonstrate self-awareness by acknowledging mistakes, seeking support when needed, and responding constructively to challenges.

- Maintain professional boundaries and ethical conduct in all interactions with youth.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide exam.
- Ability to work during after-school hours and commit through the academic school year (hire date through mid-June).
- Ability to complete Mandated Reporter certification and other required trainings.
- Ability to independently supervise and engage up to 22 youth.
- Basic proficiency with email, Google Drive, and other program management platforms.
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and move throughout the program space for extended periods.
- Use required digital platforms and communication tools (Workday, Workvivo, Google Drive, email) effectively and independently.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and required documentation.
- Attend all required professional development sessions and participate fully.
Skills
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to program activities, remaining engaged during challenging moments.
- Plan and facilitate engaging, student-centered lessons that incorporate academic and SEL skill development.
- Provide specific, genuine praise that recognizes students' effort, persistence, and growth.
Compensation
- Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay.
- Up to 15 paid holidays per year
