About the role
- Red 6 is seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team in Louisville, CO.
- The Chief Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving overall system architecture, primarily focusing on hardware with a complementary understanding of software.
Responsibilities
- As a deeply technical and cross-functional leader, the Chief Engineer will lead critical design decisions, conduct trade studies, and translate customer requirements into actionable system and subsystem specifications.
Requirements
- We are required to disclose the following information to California "consumers" regarding our collection of their personal information.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for simulation, AR, VR, or related products in the defense, aerospace or related industries
- Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues and system trades
- Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specification, when all tied together, meet product requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced technical degree preferred.
- Experience working with government customers and understanding of defense industry standards and protocols
- Estimated Base Salary Range:
- $200,000 to $250,000 dependent on skills and experience
Nice to have
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced technical degree preferred.
- Experience with Sensors (camera, time-of-flight), image processing
- Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality hardware (Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)
- Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, and successfully getting those systems certified for DoD use
- Solid understanding of requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORs

Compensation
- May be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to plan terms.
- $200,000 to $250,000 dependent on skills and experience
