About the role
- The annual salary range for this position is $75,800.00-$113,600.00.

Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and programmatic support to the NINDS Division of Neuroscience, Movement Disorders and Neurodegeneration (MDN) Cluster, supporting a complex neuroscience grants portfolio and related initiatives in Rockville, MD.
- Develop research plans, protocols, surveys, SOPs, training materials, and data collection systems to support scientific initiatives.
- Manage scientific projects from initiation through completion, including planning, tracking milestones, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
- Coordinate and support workshops, conferences, scientific meetings, and cross-NIH activities; prepare meeting summaries and documentation of outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, government agencies, scientific leaders, and policy partners.
- Develop outreach, communication, and dissemination strategies to promote program goals and scientific initiatives.
- Support the development of new funding concepts, research initiatives, and strategic planning efforts aligned with Institute priorities.
- Provide scientific and management support for program implementation, portfolio evaluation, and continuous process improvement.
- This position supports the management of a complex neuroscience grants portfolio, scientific initiatives, program evaluation activities, stakeholder engagement, and cross-NIH collaborations.
- Capability to develop SOPs, research protocols, surveys, questionnaires, and data collection instruments.

- Master's degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Cognitive Science, Biopsychology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Nice to have
- Prior experience supporting NIH Institutes, Centers, or other federal biomedical research organizations.
- Familiarity with portfolio analyses involving neuroscience or neurological disease research programs.
- Knowledge of Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs/NOFOs) and federal research funding processes.
- Background supporting movement disorders, neurodegeneration, or related neuroscience research portfolios.
- Understanding of policy development, strategic planning, and program evaluation methodologies.
- Knowledge of research conduct, compliance requirements, and human subjects research processes.
- Capability to advise investigators regarding funding priorities, proposal development, and programmatic requirements.
