About the role
- The Middle School Director serves as the school's instructional and administrative leader, responsible for fostering a positive learning environment, ensuring the academic success of all students, and overseeing daily operations.
- This role requires a wareness of current trends and challenges in middle school education and an u nderstanding of effective strategies for creating an inclusive and equitable school environment.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers with instructional strategies, curriculum development, and professional growth.
- Analyze student performance data to identify areas of improvement and implement action plans to address them.
- Manage and monitor the school budget to ensure effective use of resources.
- Develop and enforce school policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Supervise and evaluate school staff, including teachers, support staff, and volunteers.
- Student Support:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment.
- Collaborate with staff to implement interventions for at-risk students.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families and the community.
- Partner with community organizations to support school initiatives and student needs.
Requirements
- Valid administrative or principal certification as required by the state.

- R egularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment
- R egularly required to see and observe students, walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, and hear and speak to exchange information
- R egularly required to possess dexterity of hand and fingers, kneel, bend at the waist, sit on the floor, climb stairs and reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to perform assigned duties
- R egularly required to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in indoor and outdoor classrooms
- O ccasionally required to lift and/or move up to 2 5 lbs.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Nice to have
- Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level.
- Prior administrative or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and its impact on learning and behavior.
- Knowledge of middle school curriculum standards, instructional methodologies, and assessment practices.
- Awareness of current trends and challenges in middle school education.
- Proficiency in data analysis to inform instructional decision-making.
- Understanding of effective strategies for creating an inclusive and equitable school environment.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to foster a positive and collaborative school culture.
- Proficiency in using technology for administrative and instructional purposes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Promote the use of innovative technologies and instructional practices to enhance learning.
