About the role

As an Addiction Counsellor/Case Manager (Narcotic Treatment Program - Central West), you will be providing specialized services to individuals (age 16 and older) using opioids.
Clients may be considering or utilizing replacement therapies and those seeking to reduce or stop using opioids.
As a Counsellor/Case Manager for the Narcotic Treatment Program - Central West, you will primarily focus on case management including assessing needs, connecting clients with resources and supporting them through their goals related to their opioid use.

Respond to crisis situations with appropriate interventions and support clients in developing and understanding healthy boundaries.
Skills & Competencies Clinical skills in addiction and substance abuse, concurrent disorders and/or withdrawal management, with the ability to perform brief psychosocial and risk assessments.

Knowledge and/or experience working in a harm reduction framework Relevant experience (2 years) working in a shelter or transitional housing setting an asset
Current CPR and First Aid required;
Valid Ontario Driver's License, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
Proficiency in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and CPR/First Aid.

evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling skills Training/experience administering Naloxone preferred Language
Proficiency in prevalent languages in the Region of Peel and French considered a strong asset.
Transportation: Valid Ontario Driver's License, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
35-hour work week; Mon - Fri 8:30 am- 4:30 pm.
