About the role
- - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- - 8 years of experience in software development.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, scoping, and navigation of complex compliance initiatives across a large work group with long time horizons.
- Partner with Legal, product managers, security, and other engineering teams to align competing priorities and drive organizational consensus in the best interest of Google and its users.
- Elevate engineering standards, influence designs beyond the GMM Client Infrastructure team, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Nice to have
- Experience driving compliance, privacy, or trust initiatives for a globally distributed consumer application.
- Experience in cross-platform development and mobile client infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of client-side system architecture on mobile platforms (Android or iOS).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting mobile applications.
- Demonstrated ability to reduce system complexity and invent novel architectural patterns for open-ended, ambiguous issues.

Compensation
- US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
