- This role is open to our Calgary or Saskatoon office, with a possib i l ity for a hybrid opportunit y in Vancouver.
Responsibilities
- Perform ing climate, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support peak flow, flood control and erosion mitigation studies.
- Complet ing hydrologic and engineering designs for mining clients, incorporating climate change assessments to support planning and design of water infrastructure.
- Develop ing and manag ing mine water balance models to support site-wide water balance assessments and water management planning.
- Design ing and assess ing mine water management infrastructure, focus on surface water infrastructure such as channels, ponds and sizing pumping systems.
- Collaborat ing with Okane's multidisciplinary teams to support the development and implementation of closure visioning, planning and execution.
- Provid ing support for proposals of varying complexity in technical expertise.
- B uild and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and actively engage in business development initiatives, exploring innovative opportunities beyond your project scope.
- In this role, you will work closely with our mining clients and technical teams on projects that span diverse sites with unique challenges to develop practical solutions for mine water management.

Requirements
- Bachelor or graduate degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in water management within the mining industry.
- Experience and aptitude for multidisciplinary work and dynamic team environments.
- Proficiency using water modelling software such as GoldSim, HEC-HMS, and other relevant numerical modelling programs.
- Experience with overseeing and supervising the construction of water management infrastructure is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian water regulations, codes and environmental standards including relevant professional procedures and practices is an asset.
- You are comfortable working flexibly across time zones and travelling from time to time.
- Holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng. ) designation or is eligible to obtain it.
- Demonstrated e xperience in hydrology, hydraulics, water infrastructure design, and water balance modelling.
- Experience in integrating source terms to water balance models and developing water quality models is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for both business and technical writing and clear and effective collaboration within project teams.
