About the role

As a Field Application Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our robots are successfully deployed, maintained, and supported throughout their lifecycle.
This is a highly hands-on position that combines customer-facing field work with in-house technical operations.
You'll work closely with R&D, and Sales teams, serving as the bridge between our customers and our product.

Travel throughout the U.S. and internationally to support deployments, training, and customer success.
Prepare, inspect, calibrate, and validate robots before shipment and customer deployment.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and quality checks on Civ's internal robot fleet.
Support engineering with product testing, validation, prototype evaluation, and new feature verification.
Maintain spare parts inventory, repair records, and service documentation.
Document customer issues, troubleshooting procedures, and field learnings to improve internal knowledge and training materials.

Experience working directly with customers in technical support, deployment, training, or field service environments.

3+ years of experience in robotics, field applications, technical support, hardware support, autonomous systems, drones, mechatronics, or similar hands-on technical roles.
Hands-on experience with robotics, electronics, wiring, sensors, batteries, motors, mechanical assemblies, and system troubleshooting.
Experience assembling, repairing, maintaining, or testing complex technical equipment.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools, firmware updates, software logs, or basic debugging.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in robotics, field applications, technical support, hardware support, autonomous systems, drones, mechatronics, or similar hands-on technical roles.

Experience with ROS, Linux, Git, or scripting is a plus.
Experience with GNSS/GPS, construction technology, surveying, autonomous vehicles, or drones is a plus.

Train customers on robot operation, maintenance, software workflows, and best practices.
Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, diagnosing hardware, software, and operational issues.
