Responsibilities
- Support pursuit execution: assist PDEs in developing pursuit strategy, coordinating with estimating and engineering teams, and building technically credible proposals.
- Technical analysis and proposal support: research geotechnical challenges, evaluate solutions, and contribute technical content to client-facing materials.
- Client engagement: participate in client meetings, site visits, and follow-ups. Build relationships and learn how different stakeholders make decisions.
- Market research and pipeline support: identify and qualify opportunities in the heavy civil and transportation space. Track market activity and competitive positioning.
- Industry involvement: attend trade shows, events, and association meetings. Begin building your network in the industry.
- Administrative and coordination work: manage pursuit timelines, track deliverables, and ensure smooth communication across internal teams.
- Technical foundation: understand geotechnical design and construction methods well enough to research solutions and contribute to proposals. Willingness to deepen this knowledge.
- Relationship building: able to engage professionally with clients and internal teams. Natural at asking good questions and listening to understand needs.
- Communication: translate technical concepts into clear language. Write and present well enough to support proposals and client interactions.
- You will work alongside Project Development Engineers to support pursuits for geotechnical projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related Engineering field
- 4+ years of experience in engineering, construction, sales, or technical client-facing roles
- Familiarity with construction practices and heavy equipment
- Experience working on proposals, in sales, or in a customer-facing technical role

- Candidates must be based in Tennessee.

- P.E., P.G., E.I.T., or G.I.T. licensure preferred
- CRM experience (Salesforce or equivalent) is a plus
- B2W estimating software experience is a plus
Compensation
- Targeted annual compensation range for this position in the United States is $126,000 - $155,000.
- US pay range for this role.
- $90,000 - $155,000 USD
