About the role
- A mechanical engineer applies their knowledge of mechanical systems and materials to design and develop new products, improve existing products, and troubleshoot problems with existing products.
- They use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create technical drawings and specifications that detail the size, shape, and materials needed to manufacture a product.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems: Design and develop mechanical systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed schematics and models of mechanical systems.
- Conducting research: Conduct research to develop new technologies and products, and to improve existing systems.
- Developing prototypes: Develop prototypes of mechanical systems, including designing and building prototypes, testing them, and analyzing their performance.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to service personnel helping develop their skills.
- Documentation: Mechanical engineers are responsible for documenting the systems they design, including creating technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Collaboration: Mechanical engineers often work closely with other teams, including product manager, automation engineers, and operations, to design and develop mechanical systems.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Experience bending sheet metal to create parts and components, including techniques such as press braking and roll bending.
- Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform calculations, analyze data, and develop effective engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Experience welding various metals, including steel and aluminum, with strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and simulate forming and bending processes.
- High level of precision and accuracy, with the ability to identify and correct errors while ensuring components meet performance and safety standards.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- CAD Proficiency: Skilled in computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop detailed schematics and 3D models.

- Proficiency in relevant software and technology, including systems used to interface with industrial automation equipment.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certifications/experience.
