About the role

  • Identify unmet needs, tensions, and cultural signals that unlock new product, format, and storytelling opportunities.
  • Act as a cultural radar, identifying emerging shifts that inform how brands show up authentically through cultural fluency, demonstrating not just trend-awareness, but a deep understanding of the dynamics, tensions, and human motivations shaping culture
  • Translate consumer behavior, motivations, and rituals into clear strategic direction for teams

Responsibilities

  • The role will ensure our brands deliver distinctive, culturally relevant, and commercially effective plans, while connecting upstream choices to in-market performance.
  • Shape Insight-Led Innovation & Design
  • Lead development of insight-driven foundations that guide innovation, design, and creative direction
  • Partner with Brand Design team to ensure ideas are rooted in real consumer and cultural relevance.
  • Link upstream decisions (innovation, design, messaging) to in-market performance outcomes
  • Elevate Design & Demand Generation Effectiveness
  • Create feedback loops between in-market performance and upstream design/innovation decisions

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years in Consumer & Market Insights (CMI)/brand insights
  • Demonstrated ability to shape innovation and/or creative development through insight
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior, culture, and brand building
  • Expertise in business partnering and influencing, working with cross-functional teams across disciplines
  • Proven ability to connect insights to business impact and performance outcomes, driving competitive growth
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize and communicate clear, actionable narratives
  • Ground recommendations in a strong understanding of category dynamics, channel realities, and growth drivers while being business-minded and understanding competitors and what drives growth

Nice to have

  • Experience working directly within the beauty, personal care, or FMCG industry

Compensation

  • The pay range for this position is $119,400 to $179,000.
  • Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
  • Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
