Responsibilities
- Lead capital expenditure (CapEx), process improvement, and continuous improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and technical specifications.
- Design and implement manufacturing process improvements, automation solutions, and equipment modifications.
- Develop conceptual designs, equipment layouts, engineering calculations, and technical documentation.
- Utilize ERP systems to plan, manage, and track project activities.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to leadership and project teams.
- Support maintenance and operations teams by identifying root causes of equipment or process issues and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Perform engineering studies and evaluate opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, drawings, and engineering records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5-8 years of project engineering or project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with process automation and manufacturing systems.
- Experience with Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
- Experience with ERP systems used for project planning and execution.
- Experience in fibre manufacturing, fibre processing, or other continuous manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, and facility improvements.
- Knowledge of applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and industry codes.
