About the role
- Define and execute platform qualification plans covering functional, environmental (temperature, humidity, altitude), thermal/derating, reliability (HALT/HASS, thermal cycling, vibration/shock) and life-cycle stress testing.
- Plan and run pre-compliance EMC testing (radiated/conducted emissions, ESD, EFT/burst, surge, RS/CS immunity) in-house, and interpret results against EN 55032/CISPR 32, EN 55035, FCC Part 15B and the IEC 61000-4-x suite.
Responsibilities
- Build qualification matrices, acceptance criteria and pass/fail reports; track issues to closure with the design teams and drive root-cause/corrective-action (8D) analysis.•
- Verify designs against the published environmental window (0-40 °C operating, -40 to 70 °C storage, 5-90% RH, up to 3,000 m) and challenge thermal margins with the thermal-mechanical team.EMC & Regulatory Compliance•
- Own accredited-lab certification campaigns and serve as DriveNets' technical interface to NRTLs and test houses; review test plans, witness testing, and resolve findings.•
- Drive global market access: CE, UKCA, FCC, ICES-003, KCC, VCCI, RCM, BSMI, TEC, ANATEL, ICASA and NOM, managing local-representative and in-country testing requirements.Product Safety•
- Drive product-safety compliance to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 and regional variants: energy-source classification, creepage/clearance, touch-current and temperature evaluations, and component selection (certified PSUs, fans, connectors).Documentation & Design-for-Compliance•
- Compile and maintain technical construction files, Declarations of Conformity, and RoHS/WEEE/REACH material declarations; maintain the compliance status matrix per platform and region.•
- Influence design early - review schematics, PCB stack-ups, shielding, grounding, filtering and enclosure concepts with SI/PI and mechanical teams to design compliance in, not test it in.•
- Define and maintain compliance test fixtures, lab capabilities and ATE hooks needed for repeatable pre-compliance measurement.
Nice to have
- above 3 years in hardware qualification, EMC and/or regulatory compliance of electronic systems - ideally networking, telecom or high-speed digital products.
- Practical lab skill with spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, LISNs, antennas, ESD/EFT/surge generators, anechoic/semi-anechoic or GTEM setups, plus environmental chambers
- Hands-on: Practical lab skill with spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, LISNs, antennas, ESD/EFT/surge generators, anechoic/semi-anechoic or GTEM setups, plus environmental chambers
Skills
- Rigorous, well-organized and detail-driven; strong cross-functional communication and clear technical reporting in English.Advantages
- Direct experience
- certifying for
- CE/UKCA, FCC, and Asia-Pacific schemes (VCCI, BSMI, RCM, KCC).
- Exposure to reliability engineering (HALT/HASS, MTBF), thermal characterization, and
- Knowledge of EU directives (LVD, EMC, RoHS/RoHS 3, WEEE) and environmental compliance (REACH, conflict minerals).
- Scripting/data-analysis skills (Python/MATLAB) for automating measurement post-processing.
- cutting-edge
Compensation
- $40k-$70k
