About the role
- This is a hands-on Chief Estimator role, with significant time dedicated to both leading the Estimating Team and personally completing estimates.
- Oversee subcontractor solicitation, bid coverage, and use of the company's Bid-Room system to ensure effective communication and participation goals are met.
- Stay current with estimating and bid solicitation software, providing training and recommending updates as needed.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Clients, Designers, Subcontractors, and Suppliers, reflecting the Company's core values.
- Collaborate with the Preconstruction Team on negotiated opportunities and conceptual estimates.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the estimating team, identifying high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
- Manage labor cost analysis for self-performed work, updating production rates based on historical and market data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 15 years relevant Commercial construction experience
- 5+ years of Commercial estimating experience, including leading others
- Working knowledge of construction methods, systems, and installations
