About the role

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer performing advanced software development in the fields of automatic speech recognition, speech synthesis, Natural Language Processing and biometrics, working primarily in C++ and Golang.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development efforts and work effectively with a small team of developers to create, improve and maintain applications that support state-of-the-art speech technology.
  • Full life cycle ownership including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Design, implement and optimize real-time audio processing pipelines, including integration with ASR engines and TTS systems.
  • Independently interface with customer support and QA teams to drive feature identification and bug resolution.
  • Maintain and improve the performance, stability, and efficiency of the multithreaded and multiple process software suite.
  • Design and architect new components, features, and services, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Capacity provides everything you need to automate support and business processes in one powerful omni-channel platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with at least 2 years working directly on speech or real-time audio systems in production.
  • Deep proficiency in C/C++ and Golang programming in professional, production environments - not primarily academic or side projects.
  • Hands-on experience with ASR engines or TTS pipelines in production context.
  • You have an owner/builder mentality.
  • This complex, multithreaded, cloud-native software requires a strong development background in Linux, an eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously.

Nice to have

  • CContainer experience with prior work using Kubernetes.
  • Direct experience with Networking, RTP, SIP/VOIP protocol implementation or debugging in production audio pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DSP concepts: sample rates, codecs, voice activity detection, noise suppression.
  • Some Python experience.
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres, Confluence, Jira.

Compensation

  • The expected base salary for the Software Engineer III role is between $115,000 and $158,000; actual salary will be commensurate with a candidate's experience, skill and location.
