About the role
- The company's first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling.
- Business Development Manager Radiant is hiring a Business Development Manager to be based out of El Segundo, California.
- Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is for someone in the growth stage of their BD career who is hungry, scrappy, and tenacious in the pursuit of pipeline development.
Responsibilities
- Independently source and qualify leads across commercial verticals primarily across Fortune 500 companies.
- Originate and then lead client conversations from first contact through discovery, proposal, and term sheet.
- Working with executive leadership, support negotiation of commercial documents toward binding agreements.
- Build and maintain a pipeline independently, with an emphasis on quality over volume.
- Develop tailored proposals and external communications.
Requirements
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing to travel for short trips (paneling conferences, customer meetings, etc.) 2 to 3 times per month.
- You must have this.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related commercial role.
- Ability to travel and attend in-person meetings.
- A genuine competitive streak and a track record of doing things that were hard to do.
- Demonstrated ability to source national (vs. regional) opportunities independently, not just manage inbound leads. This is fundamental. You must have this.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- US Citizen or green card holder.
- MBA from top tier school.
- Experience selling or developing business around complex hardware or infrastructure with fairly long deal timelines.
- Passion for nuclear energy and its role in a carbon-free future.
Nice to have
- Big 3 management consulting experience can be a plus, if paired with additional direct work in execution.
