- Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) team.
- This is a hands-on software engineering role that combines application development, system integration, troubleshooting, and technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Windows-based software applications using object-oriented programming principles.
- Develop software in C# and C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Create and maintain software libraries, utilities, and instrument drivers used with automated test equipment.
- Support software integration for engineering labs, manufacturing, and production test environments.
- Develop software requirements and translate system requirements into software solutions.
- Support software throughout the engineering lifecycle, including development, verification, production, and sustainment.
- Manage multiple engineering tasks while balancing competing priorities.
- Lead technical efforts on software projects and provide guidance and mentorship to junior software engineers.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in software design, development practices, and test automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM-related field.
- 2-8 years of professional software engineering experience, or
- 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a Master's degree in a STEM discipline.
- Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Nice to have
- Experience creating software libraries and hardware instrument drivers.
- Experience in integrating software with electronic test instrumentation.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or factory test environments.
- Experience supporting software throughout the full product development lifecycle.
- Experience troubleshooting integrated hardware and software systems.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading software engineers.
- Experience working within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated engineering environments.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance.
