About the role
- A future low-cost, low-carbon electric grid, serving a world that electrifies everything, is within our reach.
- The last remaining gap is breaking the link between electricity supply and demand.
- The lowest-cost, most sustainable sources of energy today come from intermittent renewable generation; but our homes, businesses and industries need electricity at the flick of a switch.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of mechanical products, including system layout, packaging, and overall product configuration.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, part and assembly drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation for components and subsystems.
- Support prototype builds, review first articles, and incorporate feedback into design updates.
- Assist with verification testing by preparing test hardware, documenting results, and updating designs as needed.
- Provide technical documentation and design support for component sourcing and supplier coordination.
- Maintain product lifecycle data, including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and revision-controlled design records.
Requirements
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent training in mechanical design, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Onshape, or a similar CAD system, including sheet metal design, electrical harness routing, and management of large assemblies.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and practical mechanical design principles.
- 5+ years of experience creating designs for fabricated components and assemblies using a range of manufacturing processes, including welding, forming, molding, and related techniques.
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering calculations, test results, and design requirements to support detailed mechanical design.
- Safety-focused, with an understanding of applicable regulatory and product design requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with DFMEA and fault tree analysis (FTA).
- Experience designing fuel cells, flow batteries, or other electrochemical systems.
- Experience supporting supplier coordination and contract manufacturing activities.
- Experience with injection molding, rotomolding, and thermoforming.
- Invinity Energy Systems is small enough that every team member plays a critical role in our daily business, but large enough to participate in landmark clean energy projects around the world.
- With its exposure to our most impactful emerging products, this role will be critical in us delivering on those opportunities.
Compensation
