About the role

  • This position will serve as a Junior Camp Counselor for the DPF 4-H Camp, a residential summer camp owned and operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County, located in Riverhead, New York.
  • POSITION DETAILS: This is an exempt, full-time position, 100% FTE.

Responsibilities

  • assisting with weekly program design and implementation of all the DPF 4-H Camp programs and activities, and assisting in providing overall supervision of youth participating in camp activities.
  • This position accepts and performs all position duties outlined in this position description, and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by the DPF 4-H Camp Director. (NOTE: This position includes cabin responsibilities.)

Requirements

  • Must be 17 years of age.
  • Must have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications (will train and assist with re-certifications if necessary).
  • Must have at least one (1) program life skill suitable for camp leadership.

Compensation

  • The salary will range from $2,000 to $2,300 commensurate with experience.
