Responsibilities

  • Leads Enterprise Solution Design
  • Develop solution and integration architectures supporting EHR, ERP, digital transformation, and enterprise technology initiatives
  • Design secure, scalable, interoperable solutions across clinical, research, and administrative environments
  • Drives Technology Strategy and Roadmapping
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities
  • Collaborates with Stakeholders and Builds Coalitions
  • Partner with clinical, operational, research, administrative, and executive leaders to gather and translate business requirements
  • The Principal Solution Architect designs and guides the implementation of complex, enterprise-wide technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise systems design, enterprise integration, or IT strategy
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise technology solutions across complex environments
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience with vendor relationship management and technology evaluation
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, systems integration, cloud technologies, and solution design
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders without direct authority

Nice to have

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in enterprise architecture or solution design
  • Experience with Epic, ERP platforms, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise cloud technologies
  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership on strategic technology planning
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications
  • TOGAF Certification
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • SAFe® Architect Certification

Compensation

  • $189,279 + depending on qualifications

Benefits

  • The Principal Solution Architect leads the design and implementation of enterprise technology solutions supporting Dell Medical School's clinical, research, academic, and administrative missions.
  • The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. ----
  • Retirement Plan Eligibility:
  • Translate institutional vision into enterprise architecture roadmaps and actionable solution designs
  • Deliver solution architectures supporting healthcare, research, and future hospital initiatives
  • Evaluate and catalog existing technology solutions across Dell Medical School, UT Medical Center, research, and campus environments
  • Develop phased roadmaps supporting modernization and retirement of legacy technologies
