About the role

  • A well-established industrial mechanical contractor in the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex mechanical construction projects.
  • This organization specializes in the installation, service, and maintenance of process mechanical systems within manufacturing and power generation environments.
  • The position involves regular travel to job sites across the region

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial mechanical projects from initial planning, design coordination, and pre-construction through final completion and closeout
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Manage project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and overall budget accountability
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project alignment
  • implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership regarding project status, challenges, and milestones
  • Support procurement efforts by assisting with vendor selection, equipment purchasing, and subcontractor management
  • Lead project meetings, including kickoff meetings, progress updates, and closeout discussions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 7+ years of project management experience within the mechanical construction industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial/process systems
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., scheduling and cost tracking systems)
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and change order processes
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale industrial or commercial construction projects from start to finish
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines

Nice to have

  • Prior experience working for a mechanical contractor strongly preferred

Compensation

  • $120k-$145k
