About the role
- This position is based at Silvus Technologies' headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA, and is on a hybrid schedule; a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected.
- On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Responsibilities
- Component selection, schematic capture and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry.
- Design high fidelity mixed signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity.
- Follow good design practices to achieve successful mixed signal PCB design.
- Perform hardware bring-up, test, and root cause analysis on the bench, using common lab equipment.
- Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high EMI environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Define PCB stack up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
- Silvus is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer who will report to the Team Lead, Electronics Design on the Hardware Engineering team.
- The successful individual in this role will participate in the development of Silvus' MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with an emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in mixed signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.
- Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level, such as USB 3.0, 10Gb Ethernet, I2C, and RS232.
- Experience designing power supply trees to achieve high efficiency and low noise implementations.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
- NOTE - As a US Federal Contractor, Silvus Technologies requires that ALL candidates being considered for employment for any position (regardless of level) MUST be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen).
- Stricter U.S. Citizen ONLY requirements (needed for some Engineering or R&D roles) will be included in the Required Qualifications section of the posted position.
Skills
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
- Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and the Vivado IDE.
- Experience with video codecs.
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark and MIL-STD-461.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C.
- Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation
- The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
- $120,000 - $180,000 USD
