About the role

  • Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Quality, the Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of procurement activities, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and timely sourcing of materials and services.
  • As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of supply, strengthening process discipline, and ensuring alignment with organizational procurement strategies and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 6-8 direct reports (buyers, planners, or procurement specialists)
  • Support team development through training, mentoring, and capability building
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and drive corrective actions as needed
  • Drive consistency and discipline in procurement processes (PO issuance, documentation, etc.)
  • Support implementation of process improvements and ERP system workflows
  • Identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve performance

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and supply chain dynamics
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of quality and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO environments)
  • All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
