About the role
- Our trauma surgeons provide expert care to the most seriously injured patients in the state, instruct future generations of trauma surgeons, and conduct research into improving and advancing the treatment of trauma patients.
- Its surgical critical care fellowship program sponsors four fellows each year.
- Function/Duties of Position The appointee shall provide clinical services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the University's missions of patient care, teaching, outreach, and public service.

Requirements
- Candidates must be board certified/eligible in general surgery and be able to sit for the certificate of added qualifications in surgical critical care.

- The appointee will provide trauma, critical care, and acute care surgery services, including inpatient care, operative management, emergency consultation, and trauma call coverage as assigned.
- The appointee will contribute to the education of residents, fellows, medical students, and other healthcare professionals through clinical teaching and mentorship opportunities associated with patient care activities.
- The general pattern of working hours may vary to support clinical coverage requirements, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other periods requiring supplemental coverage.
- Participation in scholarly activities, quality improvement initiatives, and educational programs is encouraged and may be pursued consistent with the needs of the Division and the interests of the appointee.
