About the role

  • GTC Machining has grown from a very humble beginning to a major supplier of machining and engineering services throughout the Defense, Aerospace, Medical Devices, and Commercial market segments.
  • Reports to: Quality and Safety Manager Job Purpose: Responsible for programming and operating multiple CMMs.
  • Complete inspections for FAIR, Sample, and Final Inspections for high precision machined parts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the machinists throughout the inspection process.
  • Develop CMM programming scripts and program a variety of coordinate measuring machines' code lines
  • Develop fixtures for CMM part setup and quick change over
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure that information and data transfer effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives
  • Maintains CMM machines to include probe qualifications, calibration, and regular cleaning
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing engineering to optimize measurements of critical features and tightly tolerance machined parts
  • Take direction from and report to the quality lead
  • Develop, maintain, and generate CMM programs per customer specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area using 6S guidelines and safety standards

Requirements

  • Review and complete all documentation required for shipping of product to the customer, thus certifying that all requirements are met
  • CMM operation/programming skills are required

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 8 years of work experience in lieu of degree
  • Lean manufacturing and quality system experience preferred (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D preferred)
  • Zeiss Calypso preferred
