About the role

  • This is a 1-credit class that meets for two 50-minute sessions /week.
  • Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach.
  • All faculty are expected to make active use of the learning management system (Canvas) at least at a minimum level established by the College.

Requirements

  • Certification in strength and conditioning or another professional certification equivalent is required.
  • Experience creating lesson plans for lab/weight room activities and knowledge of various exercise equipment is required.
  • Strong computer skills is required.
  • Experience using technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy is required.
  • Ability and willingness to be responsive and supportive to students through college online resources and digital tools is required.
  • Expertise in learner-centered teaching is required.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching or coaching in person at the college level is preferred.
