Responsibilities

  • Position Overview Under direct supervision, the Waste Management Specialist I performs waste management job functions as assigned by management.
  • Duties may support one or more waste management in functional areas, including waste stream certification, waste disposition planning, nuclear materials transfer, transportation, and related activities.
  • Perform assigned job duties supporting Waste Management in functional areas such as waste stream certification, waste disposition planning, nuclear materials transfer, transportation, and other related areas.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Work directly with FRNP Projects to coordinate daily waste activities and ensure required waste management support is available.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of experience with nuclear facility operations is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DOE nuclear facility safety, including technical safety requirements, processes, and reporting requirements, is required.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft software, are required.
  • DOE "L" or "Q" clearance, or the ability to obtain a DOE "L" or "Q" clearance, is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
