Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and financial controls
- Provide analytical support for fund performance reporting and develop insights for management decision-making
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Manage and mentor a team of fund accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Implement and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
- Support the development of automated solutions to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in fund accounting and taxation, preferably within an asset management or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS and Canadian Income Tax Act.
- Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently

Nice to have
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA or CFA)
- Experience with fund administration systems and data analytics tools
- Strong understanding of investment products and financial markets

- Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and data management tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

Compensation
- $75,900.00 - $141,900.00
- Level 7 $110,000-$120,000
- The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.
- For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
