About the role

At The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC, our expert legal team is a driving force behind our continued success.
The Legal Assistant will report directly to the Department Supervisor.
You and your team will work in collaboration to ensure that criminal matters within' the department are moving along.

Maintain communication with clients and provide case updates promptly.
Manage attorney schedule efficiently (attorney-client meetings, court appearances, etc.)
Process criminal cases for trial preparation including legal documents, data entry, and correspondence.
Perform a variety of office related activities to support Department functions including back-up of co-workers and front desk responsibilities that involve dealing directly with the public regarding criminal complaints. Process daily mail
You will learn and develop alongside a team of professionals with a focus on excellence in the legal industry.

1+ years of Criminal Defense experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) with high proficiency required.
Experience with Case Management Software, or familiarity with computer charting programs.
As the Legal Assistant, you will have a working knowledge of current legislative, and regulatory guidelines, and experience in Criminal Defense.
Professional work history with transferrable skills.

Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field is preferred but not required.
