About the role
- Job Description: Controls Engineer Huntsman is seeking a Controls Engineer supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois.
- This position will report to the Engineering Manager.
- Job Scope The Controls Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- This role combines hands-on technical support with continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on equipment reliability, cybersecurity, compliance, and production performance within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Controls, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience required
- 4+ years of controls or automation experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Nice to have
- Manufacturing industry experience within chemicals or related industries.
- Experience supporting IT/OT integration and industrial cybersecurity initiatives.
- Prior experience leading automation-related capital or improvement projects.
- Familiarity with vendor management and system integrator coordination.
- Working Environment
- Industrial manufacturing plant environment.
- Regular exposure to production areas, equipment, and control systems.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

- Solid understanding of industrial automation systems and control networks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation
- Salary range $90,600 / $135,800 per year.
- The compensation range reflects the Company's reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
