About the role

  • Job Description: Controls Engineer Huntsman is seeking a Controls Engineer supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois.
  • This position will report to the Engineering Manager.
  • Job Scope The Controls Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • This role combines hands-on technical support with continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on equipment reliability, cybersecurity, compliance, and production performance within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Controls, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience required
  • 4+ years of controls or automation experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Nice to have

  • Manufacturing industry experience within chemicals or related industries.

  • Familiarity with vendor management and system integrator coordination.
  • Working Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing plant environment.
  • Regular exposure to production areas, equipment, and control systems.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

  • Salary range $90,600 / $135,800 per year.
  • The compensation range reflects the Company's reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
