Responsibilities
- Develop the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes, which include but are not limited to, HVAC, piping design, heat exchanger evaluations and Hydraulic piping/tubing design and modifications, mechanical equipment evaluations.
- Research engineering and design issues, evaluates alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues.
- Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities.
- Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes.
- Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes.
- Develop safety screens and evaluations that support engineering design changes.
- Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
- Typically, an office environment with some work in the plant to conduct system walkdowns and field support of modification implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- 4-6 years of engineering experience.
- A Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
Nice to have
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Background hydraulic analysis, HVAC, pipe stress analysis ASME B31.1 and ASME Section III pipe stress analysis.
- Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
- Proficient in principles of project management.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- State registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Experience with nuclear industry standard design process.
