About the role
- Position Global Energy Monitor is seeking an experienced communications professional to join its communications team.
- The Challenge According to the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC), we have less than a decade to make massive and unprecedented changes in the global economy to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
Requirements
- The following experience and skills are required for this position:
- This is a broad, hands-on role for someone with strategic judgement and disciplined project management skills and the ability to lend a hand across a diverse communications portfolio.
Nice to have
- An understanding of the energy and climate policy landscape.
- Established network of journalists in the fields of climate, energy, and industry.
- Track record of pitching and publishing stories in top-tier media.
- Ability to translate data into compelling narratives using strong writing skills.
- Experience with journalism or working in a newsroom.
- Experience with graphic design or data visualization technology for digital graphics (Flourish, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, etc.).
- Experience with project management software such as Trello and Asana.

Skills
- At least five years experience in communications or journalism.
- Scrupulous attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of supporting organizational-wide change.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation
- The salary is $106,483.55 for locations in the United States.
