About the role

  • Working closely with the Systems Administration Manager, this role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of production, development, and test systems.
  • The analyst proactively monitors system health, resolves issues, and contributes to long‑term infrastructure planning.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they occur.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, configure, and support all physical and virtualized servers.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for security protocols to safeguard systems and data.
  • Document existing and new infrastructure deployments, procedures, configurations, and architecture diagrams.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle maintenance.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems with limited standardization and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule‑based instructions.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities on production servers during off-hours (nights or weekends) if required to minimize impact on business continuity or operations.
  • Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Advanced technical proficiency with:
  • Must be available to work an average of 40 hours per week or as required to meet business needs.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

  • Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware or similar)
  • Virtual Desktop Access (VDA)
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
  • Storage Area Networks (iSCSI & FC)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
  • Ability to write scripts, batch files, and automated processes.
  • Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat and Debian distributions).

Skills

  • Must have a current driver's license and auto liability insurance.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and follow‑through skills with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, scientific/technical journals, and regulatory materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to leadership and external groups.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts including percentages, proportions, and basic algebra/geometry.
  • Proactively research new and updated technologies as they become available and relevant to our environment.
