About the role
- Working closely with the Systems Administration Manager, this role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of production, development, and test systems.
- The analyst proactively monitors system health, resolves issues, and contributes to long‑term infrastructure planning.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they occur.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, configure, and support all physical and virtualized servers.
- Implement and enforce best practices for security protocols to safeguard systems and data.
- Document existing and new infrastructure deployments, procedures, configurations, and architecture diagrams.
- Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems with limited standardization and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule‑based instructions.
- Perform troubleshooting activities on production servers during off-hours (nights or weekends) if required to minimize impact on business continuity or operations.
- Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Advanced technical proficiency with:
- Must be available to work an average of 40 hours per week or as required to meet business needs.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.

- Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
- Virtualization platforms (VMware or similar)
- Virtual Desktop Access (VDA)
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
- Storage Area Networks (iSCSI & FC)
- Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Ability to write scripts, batch files, and automated processes.
- Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat and Debian distributions).
Skills
- Must have a current driver's license and auto liability insurance.
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and follow‑through skills with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, scientific/technical journals, and regulatory materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to leadership and external groups.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts including percentages, proportions, and basic algebra/geometry.
- Proactively research new and updated technologies as they become available and relevant to our environment.
