About the role
- Ensures standardized implementation across their area of responsibility by working closely with the nurses.
- Coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, including appropriate staffing levels to ensure quality and safe patient centered care.
Responsibilities
- As new nursing knowledge and innovations in practice advance, works to implement and monitor the application into practice.
- Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to long-range strategic operational planning, care and service design and development of organizational policies, which reflect the mission of the organization.
- Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards
- Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
- Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) within two years of hire
- Master of Science, Nursing (MSN) or Master's degree in related field
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ability to plan, delegate, monitor and improve work performance
- Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
- Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
- Ability to work varied shifts
- On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
